Our greens need no watering, mowing, or fertilizing. Mirage greens last many years, and will not be damaged by normal sun, wind, rain, snow, or ice.
To create a ball speed that is required of tour greens, you need to fill the turf fibers with sand and top dress right up to the top of the fibers. At that point, you are putting almost entirely on sand and not the fibers. In time, the sand will settle or wash out, and your sand-filled green will become much slower.
